Past work

So I promised some photos of my past and present work.   I found some old photos from my early ebay days and my oldest daughter's younger years.  She made sewing fun with her love of baby doll's and dresses!

Here she is at 4 with her favorite baby doll, baby born.   That doll was so popular then and had the coolest accessories!  It was made from Zapf creations, I think it was a german company.  Anyhow, they made other dolls that we came to love as well, baby Annabel, Chou Chou and baby Chou Chou.  We had them all and they were well dressed!

This dress was made from a Daisy Kingdom pattern with a matching doll pattern.  She wore this at her Birthday party.

Here we have Baby Born in her famous ballerina outfit.  Zapf creation made them popular, but of course I had to do my own.   I drafted the whole pattern myself and they soon were a hit on ebay.   It was my most profitable item I made.

Here's another layette set for Baby Born.

And one for Chou Chou.

A couple dresses for most dolls.

Here is some of my recent work on diapers.

This one is for Daddy!   We love the Bears!  I digitized this logo for my use, I do not sell items with any licensed logos, though.
This is knit print fitted diaper.   I love the bright colors in this one!

This is an embroided pocket diaper.  This is waterproof.   The embroidery is actually contained within its own pocket, so no wicking on the threads.

Can you tell I like bright colors yet???
Here is one my covers made with PUL underneath and a short pile soft & comfy fabric.

These are just a touch of what I have sewn over the years....and many more to go.....as time allows!

Why can't I have more time to sew??

Welcome to my blog of whatever comes across my mind.   As you can tell by my blog name, I love to sew.   It's been roughly 15 years of knowing what I am doing with my machines and many more of "thinking" I knew how to use the machine (only had 1 then!).   It's a sad, but productive addiction.   My family doesn't know what it's like to not have something mended when it rips or adjusted if need, or even that dreamt up costume.  I'll be posting my work from the past and present.

My best projects are the one-offs, like "Hey, could you make this blah blah, but change this yada yada".  Just because it was something new and a challenge.  I have also become rather frugal over the years....sign of aging...geez, never thought I'd be there!   So when I see something at the store, I find myself weighing whether or not I could do it for a significant savings.  If not, then I just may buy it since time is money.   But, I will try it just to see if I could.

As for me, I am NOT a SAHM.   It's just not in the cards for me and my family.  I work full time as a computer application support analyst and have 3 kids (12, 5 and 3mos.).   I have a wonderful husband who shares household and kid duty as well as a wonderful sitter who takes great care of my two youngest.  All of this makes our lives work!

Sewing is my outlet, and I literally can pull all-nighters sewing...not so good for the tasks of the next day, though.  I recently got into cloth diapering with my last baby and became addicted to making them and customized the look of them.   Sooooo, you know my daughter has tons of diapers now....and I still sew them.

Then the Etsy store was born http://etsy.com/shop/pinkseamstress .   I have only had it less than a month and it's already picking up!   My goals are to provide quality great looking diapers at reasonable prices for the style and materials used, without being "like the rest".   My main style is the La Di Da diaper (http://www.ladidadiapers.com/) which is a nice trim diaper that fits like a disposable and they're really cute!

Thanks for stopping by, I'll be posting again soon...with pics!
